High-Voltage Charging Systems

System engineering for vehicle charging — where hardware, software, standards and user behaviour meet.

System responsibility for AC charging projects — on-board charger and HV DC/DC topics, functional safety concepts and OEM alignment.

Project overview

Charging systems sit at the intersection of hardware, software, vehicle integration, standards and user-facing behaviour. Engineering quality depends on a consistent requirements baseline and clear interfaces — ambiguity at one interface shows up as a defect somewhere else.

Engineering focus

My role was the system: defining functions and architecture, carrying the safety concept from HARA to FSC, aligning TSC with hardware and software, and keeping requirements, changes and configurations traceable across the lifecycle.

What this project demonstrates

Reducing ambiguity in technically broad systems without losing engineering depth — and keeping many teams moving on a shared technical understanding.

Outcomes

  • Consistent system baselines across several charging projects.
  • Safety concepts aligned between system, hardware and software teams.
  • A stable technical interface between OEM and internal engineering over eight years.
